As a realistic landscapist I try to combine the qualities
of the Dutch tradition of painting with all the contemporary elements one
finds in landscapes nowadays. I allways paint what I think I see.
From time to time I need to escape the turmoil of the city and put up my easel
on the banks of a river, at sea on the beach, in a polder or in a forest.
My favourite subjects are the Dutch polder landscape, Dutch skies with their
characteristic cloud formations, riverscapes, dunes and beaches.
